Third class have had a very exciting month. We continued our work with our Storyteller in Residence, Paul Timoney. Our final workshop with Paul will be on November 8th. We will also have the final presentation of our work ‘Imagine the Magic Moustaches’ on the 13th of November in the Mermaid Theatre as part of YARN Storytelling Festival Bray. 3rd class will be attending the showing and all parents are more than welcome to also attend. If you would like to have a look at Paul’s blog on his time with our class please click the link below.
3rd class have had many outings over the past weeks. On the 13th of October we went for a lovely nature walk through the woods with 1st class. On the 20th of October we went on our Sponsored Walk along with the rest of the school. We had a lovely day out. On Friday the 27th we were invited to Dubray Books for the book launch of Foclóiropeadia! The class were very excited for the book launch. It was even more exciting because we walked down in our costumes!
Kate visited her local library and found some excellent books about the Great Famine for us to read this month as we were learning all about the Great Famine in History.
Charlie brought in his own copies of Irelandopedia and Historopedia so that we could see some of the previous books released by Fatti and John Burke. We loved all the amazing illustrations and interesting facts within both books.
In art we made fabric and fibre burgers using a lot of different materials such as wool, corrugated cardboard, fabric scraps, crepe paper and matchsticks. We love how bright and colourful they turned out.
Have a great midterm break and see you all in November!
