Can you believe that it is almost Easter already? With only two weeks at school this month, Junior Infant pupils are squeezing as much learning and fun into their second last term, of their first year in St. Andrew’s, as possible. We will continue to learn all about the Easter story and we are giving particular thanks at this time of year for the love that God shows us every day. Don’t forget to read the Easter story with your child at home if they have a children’s bible.
As Easter is our theme for these two weeks, Junior Infants will be doing lots of Easter art during play. We will be designing our very own Easter egg and we will be integrating mathematical patterns and counting into our art pieces. As the class restaurant has been so successful over the past three weeks it will remain open for business until the Easter break, so if you are feeling peckish don’t forget to reserve a table as demand is at an all time high! The class will also be learning about Easter in Gaeilge so if you would like to learn some Irish words associated with Easter, just ask any of the Junior Infant pupils and we will be delighted to teach you.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy, restful and relaxing Easter holidays. Make sure everyone takes time to do fun, enjoyable actvities which you may not usually have time to do. While we all love holidays, we can’t wait to come back to school on the 29thof April and begin our final term in Junior Infants. It will be such an exciting and funfilled final term as we will have our first school tour, our first sports day, our first cake sale and many more ‘firsts’ and fun events and activities. Time flies when you are having fun and it will be the end of June before we know it!
