Our first term in Senior Infants has flown by and it is hard to believe that this day next week it will be Christmas day!  The excitement levels are rising daily and we are really enjoying all of the different Christmas activities we’re doing in class.

This year, for the month of December, the P.T.A. very kindly organised an advent calendar for the whole school! It has been great fun hearing what is in each box and which class the treat is for. Senior Infants were really lucky and got a non-uniform day, golden time and lunch with Ms. Wood!

When we invited Ms. Wood for lunch, she didn’t realise that we knew it was her birthday. We decided to throw her a small surprise party and we loved making decorations, cards and presents for her! You can see that she really enjoyed her party!

During December our Aistear theme was Santa’s Workshop. We have enjoyed making toys, wrapping presents, designing cards, creating sleighs, making houses and delivering presents. It has really helped us get in the festive spirit!

Here are a just a few photographs that show some of the things we got up to this month.

We enjoyed writing the naughty and nice lists for Santa in the role-play area! Luckily, Ms. Fleming made it onto the nice list!
We created Rudolph, Santa’s sleigh and Santa’s Workshop in the construction area!
We created a penguin rescue centre, complete with rescue trucks, in the small world area.

Finally, we would like to wish everybody a very happy and safe Christmas and we look forward to seeing you all next year!
