General Election 2020
During the month of February we learned about the different political parties in Ireland, as well as the party leaders of each. We spent time after the General Election had taken place following the counting of votes in each constituency closely and compared the turnout out in different areas and the amount of counts completed in each constituency.
We have just finished reading ‘Greta’s Story’ in class, which means it will shortly be arriving home for each of the pupils to discuss with family and friends. At the beginning of the month we read some of Greta’s famous speeches and the students wrote a piece of persuasive writing that they would use if they had the opportunity to speak to our government about climate change. The students also completed work on adjectives they would use to describe Greta which you can see below. Asian Country Projects
Each student in the class worked to complete a mini-project on an Asian country either individually or as part of group. The students learned a lot of different interesting facts about their chosen country and presented their projects to the class. Here are a few examples of the fantastic projects completed by 6th class.
