October was another busy month for 3rd class. We spent lots of time exploring our school and its environs in different subjects. We explored everything from the amenities in our school to the people who come together to form our school community. We even created silhouette art pieces inspired by our school grounds in autumn. Many of us were inspired by the squirrels who sometimes visit the school field while we are working in class. We have included a photograph of a small sample of our silhouette art pieces on this post.
Whilst exploring the theme of our school, on Wednesday October 13th we celebrated Lámh Day and its importance in making sure students with communication needs can feel welcome and included. Lámh is a sign system that is used with speech to help people with communication needs to communicate with those around them. We learned the signs to the song ‘Days of the Week’ and shared the signs that we learned with the whole school during assembly.
We are all looking forward to having a rest over the Midterm, so that we are refreshed and ready for November!
