3rd Class have been very busy in the last term of the academic school year and everyone is now looking forward to the summer holidays and a well deserved break.
The class really enjoyed their school tour to Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains National Park. They also fully enjoyed having Ms. Barkley teach them this term and all the amazing lessons she taught and resources she used.
Here is a glimpse of just some of the things 3rd Class have been engaged in this term.
In the Maths topic of ‘Capacity’, we rolled up our sleeves and got back to basics, estimating, measuring and establishing the different capacities of different containers. We also worked on data.
In Maths again, we enjoyed solving problems related to the topic of Area, taking a hands on and discovery learning based approach.
In Science we made our own telephones, examined and then explored the nature of sound travelling in waves.
In Geography we discussed and examined well known bridges around the world and afterwards we constructed our very own, architecturally worthy, counterparts.
Also during the last term 3rd Class continued to hone their chess playing, improving evermore their higher order thinking and strategy skills whilst enjoying a fun social game at the same time.
Finally, Pen Licence’s, were issued to one and all in 3rd Class, where everyone reached the prerequisite standard. Well done Rang a trí. Now off you fly and enjoy those Hols!
