On Friday 30th January, 6th class went on a trip to Microsoft, to participate in their Dream Space workshop.
We were dropped off at Bride’s Glen Luas stop and took the Luas to Central Park, before walking up to the Microsoft building.
We dropped our bags, got nametags and were divided into different groups. The focus of the workshop was learning how to code.
We solved some puzzles with our group, before heading over to the colour identifying robots. We had to figure out what colours made the robot do certain tasks. We had to then create a track using different colours to make the robot move. There was a competition to see who made the most creative track!
After that we had lunch and we were given a tour of the Microsoft building. We saw their LED lake, Lego wall and sleep pods - which were all very cool!
After our tour we went back to Dream Space and learned how to programme microbits (they were the size of credit cards!). We programmed our names onto them and learned how to play rock, paper, scissors on them.
It was a lot of fun, we had a great day!
