Sports day practice and letter party
In Junior Infants we had a great day today. We joined Senior Infants in PE. We practiced our races for the sports day together. It was so much fun to practice together! But today's fun did not stop there. We discovered that we have studied all 26 letters now, and our 5th class buddies organised a party for us! We went out the back field and hunted for letters. Then we had to come up with words with that letter. And to top it all off, we got a certificate and a sticker!

Blast from the past
This afternoon we in Junior Infants received a surprise! We knew a visitor would be coming, but we wanted it to be a surprise who it was. We were so happy to see Ms Cole, our very first teacher in St Andrew's, walk into the classroom! And she did not come by herself, she brought her baby Charlie with her. We tried really hard to stay as calm as possible, so he would not get a fright. It was so good to see Ms Cole again, and wonderful to meet baby Charlie.

Well done to everyone who too

Great day of Golf
A super day of golf was had by a team of 3 girls and 4 boys from 5th and 6th at the annual Delgany Golf Club Schools Cup. The day started at 8 with a shotgun scramble 9-hole competition, followed by a demonstration from the PGA Ryder Cup Captain Gavin Kavanagh and ended with a delicious lunch and prizegiving in the clubhouse. Have a look at some photographs from the day and read the Greystones Guide article. Well done to our teams for representing St. Andrew's so well.

Fun in the garden with 3rd class
3rd class had great fun planting flowers in our school garden. Everyone helped out and enjoyed getting their hands a bit messy! It’s lovely to see how much the garden has brightened up already with all the new colours. Whilst one half of 3rd class were busy gardening, the other half became budding zoologists, botanists and entomologists, using their trusty magnifier hand-held lenses. With these simple devices the class were able to marvel at animal, plant and insect life ten

The Garden Centre
During the month of April, we worked on the theme 'The garden centre'. We transformed our role play corner into a garden centre, where we took care of plants and sold and bought them. We made flowers from various materials and sorted seeds (have you seen how many pumpkin seeds were collected?). Our mathematics and literacy was also garden themed. And in science we learned about germination, photosynthesis and pollination! We also learned about bumblebees, they are an endanger

World Book Day 2026
World Book Day was a fantastic celebration in our school this year! Everyone made a great effort dressing up as their favourite book characters, bringing stories to life all around the classroom. In 4th class, we added a fun twist to the day with a Where’s Wally? maths challenge. Instead of just searching for Wally, we turned it into a problem-solving activity—carefully counting and figuring out exactly how many Wallys were hidden in the picture. It was trickier than it looke

4th Class Norman Adventures!
Fourth Class had an exciting few weeks exploring the world of the Normans! We were very lucky to welcome local historian Meg Elliot into our classroom, where she shared her knowledge and brought history to life through engaging lessons. As part of our learning, the children designed their own family crests and discovered the fascinating world of heraldry. To top it all off, we enjoyed a wonderful walking trip on a sunny Friday to Raheen A Cluig on Bray Head, where we explored

A special visit from a little lamb
This week we had a very special visitor come to our classroom...a lamb! At first, we sat and listened carefully while we learned lots of interesting facts about lambs. The lamb was calm and curious. It was amazing to see such a young animal up close! The best part of the visit was at the end, when we each got a chance to gently pet the lamb. Its wool was so soft, and everyone made sure to be quiet and careful so we didn’t scare it. We had lots of fun!

Visitor in Junior Infants
We had a visitor in school today: Poppy the lamb! Before we went out to meet Poppy, we discussed what would be a kind way to treat the lamb. Then we went to the outdoor classroom, where Poppy and her owner were waiting for us. We learned about where Poppy lives and what she likes, and we got to ask some questions. The best part came at the end- we got to pet Poppy!

Coding in 4th, 5th and 6th Classes
We were delighted to welcome Jonathan from Microsoft, and a parent in our school, for a fantastic day of coding with our 4th, 5th and 6th class pupils as part of Microsoft Month of Coding 2026. The children explored the exciting world of artificial intelligence, learning about its history and how it is used today, before putting their new knowledge into practice. They had great fun designing and coding their own AI-powered “Bug Arena” games, showing creativity, teamwork and p

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported and took part in this year's Christmas Shoebox Appeal. Thanks to the generosity and kindness of our school community, 85 amazing boxes were donated. They are currently on their way to bring smiles, joy and happiness to children this Christmas. A big thank you to First Class and their buddies in Fourth Class for all the help carrying the boxes to the car. We could not have done it without you!

Senior Infants Trip to Ballybeg Model Village
Senior Infants had a fabulous time on their trip to Enniskerry Church to see the model village that was on display for the month of October. In the model village we spotted shops, a wedding at the church, the cinema, animals, children & Bray beach!!! As the weather was so nice we walked up the Powerscourt driveway and had a picnic in the sunshine. We snacked next to some horses that were also snacking on the grass. Some of our highlights were the bus ride, picking names for t
