✩Internet Safety Day 2026!

On Tuesday, the 10th of February it was Safer Internet Day! Here in St. Andrews we had a day full of activities promoting safety online, AI awareness and being in control while online!

The internet is a massive worldwide network that connects millions of devices. It can be a fun, educational place but should also be used carefully and responsibly.

This year our main focus was being AI aware, safe, smart and in control online! In each class, there was a lesson on internet safety. Every class was learning about how to be safe, smart and in control online and the advantages and disadvantages of AI. We discussed the importance of not sharing our online details and telling parents when logging onto the internet. We learned about digital footprints and the effects it can have on our lives.

We got bracelets and each child got a safer internet day wristband. Some classes also got an information sheet to bring home for their parents on how to be AI aware and the risks of AI.

In conclusion, this year's safer internet day was a big success and we learnt lots about how to be safe online! A big thank you to all the teachers especially Ms. Mulligan and students that put a big effort into internet safety day!
