This week in First Class, our budding mathematicians put their learning into action with some exciting hands-on measuring activities! The classroom was full of curiosity and teamwork as the children explored how to measure both length and weight using everyday objects.
Armed with rulers, measuring tapes, cubes, and balance scales, the students investigated the length of classroom furniture, their own height, and even the distance between different areas in the school.
In our weight exploration, the children used balance scales to estimate and compare the weight of classroom items like books, water bottles, and pencil cases. They had great fun predicting which objects would be heavier or lighter, and were very excited to see the results.
These practical activities helped bring our Maths learning to life. The students learned new vocabulary such as 'heavier', 'lighter', 'longer' and 'shorter', while also developing teamwork and critical thinking skills.
Scroll through our pictures to see the joy and learning in action—we're so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic First Class were throughout the week. Well done, everyone!
