Anti-Bullying Week

All of the students and staff in St. Andrew’s came together in November to celebrate anti-bullying week. Anti-Bullying week helps our school to shine a spotlight on bullying and encourage all children, teachers and parents to take action against bullying throughout the year. We are making it our mission to spread kindness throughout our school through little acts every day. Each class has a fuzzy jar that fills up through random acts of kindness in school.

The children spent the week creating posters, slogans and poems and taking part in our anti-bullying assembly and cooperative PE games. The posters are currently displayed throughout the school to help remind us to be kind everyday. We now have a big banner that will be displayed at different times throughout the year on the front railings of our school to remind us that Everyone Fits in Here.

The week ended with Odd Socks Day, where we celebrated the uniqueness and individuality of each person in our school. It is important that we continue to work together to prevent all forms of bullying and remind ourselves that it doesn’t end with anti-bullying week. We need to continue to work together to create a kinder community.
